Therefore, we recommend that, before hiring any of the services that we make available to you on this website, you read these Terms and Conditions that apply to the provision of the services offered by www.thevfxschool.com, which are inherent to its main activity, education.

These contracting conditions govern the relationship between The VFX School and the users (“students”) who acquire its training courses on the website www.thevfxschool.com. You can access these conditions at any time by accessing our website.

The VFX School reserves the right to modify or change these conditions at any time. If the modifications constitute a material change to the terms, The VFX School will notify you by posting an advertisement on its website or using other means.

 

Age of students

The user can only contract if he is of legal age and/or has the legal capacity to join in an agreement. Otherwise, the responsibility for the registration of minors will be borne by their parents or legal guardians.

At The VFX School, we offer training courses about visual effects, in pre-recorded video format.

 

How to register and purchase a course

As a condition for making any registration and purchase, the user must access www.thevfxschool.com and provide the corresponding information required for the acquisition of the training courses available on this website. The information provided must be accurate, complete, and updated at all times. Failure to do so constitutes a violation of the Terms and Conditions, which may result in the dissolution of the contract with The VFX School.

The steps to register are:

  1. Fill in all the information requested in the registration form at thevfxschool.com to create an account to access our system.
  2. Check the acceptance box for the Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy.
  3. Make the payment.

From the moment of accepting the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy, the user acquires the status of Student of The VFX School.

 

Purchase validation

Once you have registered and made the payment, The VFX School will send you by email payment confirmation and access to the training course, which will serve as proof of the operation (proof of purchase). The purchase confirmation and its receipt will not be valid as an invoice.

The validation of the enrollment by the student expressly implies the knowledge and acceptance of these particular contracting conditions. Unless proven otherwise, the data recorded by www.thevfxschool.com constitute proof of the set of transactions carried out between The VFX School and its students.

 

Prices and payment method

You agree to pay the amounts established by The VFX School for each training course in the forms of payment accepted by The VFX School and for any complementary amount (including taxes).

Training courses will be provided after payment is confirmed.

The prices applicable to each course are those indicated on the website at the date of registration, including, where appropriate, the VAT (Value Added Tax) for transactions within Spanish territory except for Ceuta, Melilla, and the Canary Islands, which are exempt from the application of this tax. However, in accordance with the provisions of Law 37/1992, of December 28, regulating said tax, the operation may be exempt or not subject to it depending on the country of residence of the buyer and the condition in which the buyer operates (businessperson/professional or individual). In consequence, in some cases, the final price of the course may be altered with respect to the price displayed on the website.

The VFX School accepts the following forms of payment:

  • Stripe: The bank cards accepted through this payment gateway are: Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. Any other type of card other than those listed above will not be accepted for payment. Through this payment method, The VFX School does not collect or manipulate any student data related to their card number. All data is processed directly by the corresponding financial institution, thus offering you the greatest security and confidentiality in the transaction.
  • PayPal: If the user chooses to pay with PayPal, they will be redirected to PayPal so that they can make the payment using their account or with their debit or credit card quickly and safely, without sharing their financial information.
  • Bank transfer: The user will be able to make said payment comfortably from their bank, previously contacting The VFX School via email (info@thevfxschool.com). Transfers usually take approximately 48 hours to become effective. In this case, the student’s first and last name must be indicated in the payment concept, and the payment receipt must be sent to The VFX School via email to expedite the transaction.

No other payment method is accepted.

Payment must be made in advance.

Installment payments are not possible in any case.

Students who require an invoice can request it by email to info@thevfxschool.com, and it will be sent to their email.

 

Validity of prices and offers

The courses offered on the web and their prices will be available for purchase while they are in the catalog of courses displayed on the website. Users are required to access updated versions of the website to avoid price confusion.

Withdrawal of purchase

The withdrawal of purchase is the power of a consumer of goods to return it to the seller within a legal period of 14 days, without having to submit a claim or provide any explanation about it, nor suffer a penalty.

According to article 103 of the Consumers and Users Law, the right of withdrawal may not be exercised in the event of “the supply of digital content that is not provided on a physical storage medium when its execution has begun with the prior express consent of the consumer and user, with the knowledge on their part that as a consequence of their access they lose their right of withdrawal.”

Therefore, the period of withdrawal of purchase for our training courses will be extinguished at the moment in which the student accesses their account at The VFX School, using their corresponding password that grants them access to the course.

 

Cancellation of purchase and refunds

Payment is not refundable under any circumstances. You have the responsibility to understand this condition before purchasing any course on our website. We ask that you read the details carefully before purchasing.

If you encounter any technical issues during the registration or purchase process, we will do our best to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

 

European Consumer Law

We inform you that the European Commission has created the first European platform for the resolution of conflicts in online commerce, protected by the latest consumer law. In this sense, as the person in charge of an online sales platform, we have the duty to inform our users about the existence of an online platform for alternative conflict resolution.

Intellectual property

The access to the course acquired by the student does not imply, on the part of The VFX School, the total or partial waiver, transfer or cession of rights derived from intellectual and industrial property, nor does it attribute rights of use, alteration, exploitation, reproduction, distribution, or public communication of these contents without the prior and express written authorization of The VFX School, without prejudice to the right of viewing and obtaining a private security copy of such content, provided that said right is exercised according to the principles of good faith and as long the intellectual and industrial property of the owner of such rights remains unchanged and is used without commercial purposes and exclusively for the buyer’s personal information.

The responsibility derived from the use of materials protected by the intellectual and industrial property rights contained in this page will correspond exclusively to the buyer.

In no case, your data will be transferred to third parties except when required by law.

  • The right to request the rectification of your data if they are incorrect, or their deletion if they are no longer necessary for the purpose that motivated their collection.

Limitation of liability

The user agrees to hold The VFX School harmless from claims, losses, expenses, damages, and costs (including direct, incidental, consequential, punitive, exemplary, and indirect damages), and reasonable attorney fees as a result of any breach on the part of the user/buyer of these conditions, whether or not said breach is considered material or immaterial, and of the improper use of the services by you or any person acting on your behalf or using your account at www.thevfxschool.com or for any material or immaterial violation of any right, title or interests of third parties.

In no case will The VFX School be responsible for any breach of contract that occurs on your part, or for your negligence regarding the site, the service or any content, for any loss of benefits, loss of use, or actual, special or indirect damages, incidental, punitive or consequential of any kind, derived from the misuse by you of the tools provided.

Our sole responsibility will be to supply the product under the Terms and Conditions expressed in this contracting policy. The VFX School will not be liable for any consequence, damage, or harm that may arise from the improper use of the supplied products.

 

Languages

The language in which the relationship between The VFX School and the student will be established will be English or Spanish.

 

Jurisdiction and applicable law

For the resolution of any controversy derived from the access or use of this website, The VFX School and the user are subject to the legislation of Spain and the courts of Santa Cruz de Tenerife in the case of professionals (freelancers or companies). Regarding the rest of the users, they will be subject to the courts and tribunals of the city of residence of the user.
